Ministry of the Church

First Presbyterian Church of Middlesboro has a high regard for both Worship and Works. Because Christ commanded in James 2:20, "Faith without works is dead..." . We believe works of the church are important, and we hold to the belief that a loving and compassionate church builds both a strong local and world community.

Called by God and equipped by the Holy Spirit to live transformed lives through Biblical reflections, faithful worship and the sharing of our faith and life journeys, we commit ourselves to the mission of living out Christ's love in the world. Through celebration of the sacraments, evangelization, service to others and a commitment to prayer, fellowship and the openness to the Holy Spirit's direction, we seek to connect people to Jesus Christ and each other through a welcoming and tolerant atmosphere.
